Transient and TechOnline Students
 
You have come to this page because you plan to enroll as an online transient student or a TechOnline transient student. This means that you are currently pursuing a degree at another college but choose to take some classes at PTC.  You might wish to check to see if your college is a member of the TechOnline Consortium of Colleges sharing courses. If your college is a hosting member and your course is listed for your college's students, you may take this course as a student at your home college and add this course on to your local tuition or financial aid (if you have not yet exceeded 12 hours constituting a full-time load). If this page does not apply to you, please try one of our other Distance Learning options.
 

Enrollment Checklist
for Transient Students Planning to Take Online Courses

Obtain a Transient Approval Form
 
See your advisor at your home institution to receive your Transient Approval Form.  You and your advisor must ensure that you have met pre-requisites for the Piedmont courses for which you will be registered.  This approval is only valid for one semester and is your assurance that your home institution will accept the Piedmont courses for credit.

Submit Transient Approval Form
 
To request your courses, submit the Transient Approval Form or letter by one of the following methods:
 
  • Visit the Enrollment Center on the Lex Walters Campus, Greenwood
  • Visit any County Center
  • Fax to (864) 941-8566, Attn: Janean Reish
  • E-mail with an attachment to Janean Reish at reish.j@ptc.edu
  • For questions, please contact the Admissions Office at (864) 941-8369

An enrollment center advisor will process your request, register you for courses, and send a confirmation packet to you by U.S. Mail.

Pay Tuition (TechOnline students, contact your college)
 
In your confirmation packet, you will receive a schedule of classes and a statement of your tuition and fees. To pay your tuition by credit card, contact the college's Business Office by phone at (864) 941-8321 or complete our secure online payment form.

TechOnline financial aid students may be eligible to share their financial aid grant funds to pay for online courses at other technical colleges. See your Financial Aid office at your home college for information.

Complete Transcript Request Form
   
Complete a PTC Transcript Request Form to ensure that your grade will be sent to your home institution at the end of the term.  There is a $3 charge for this service which you may pay at the business office at the time you pay for your tuition.  Online students can mail the form with $3 to:

Access Online Services

After you have registered, follow the links provided here to access password information for PTC Pathway (a student portal offering grades, tuition balances, news, e-mail, the WebCT Course Management System, etc.).

Order Textbooks
 
Order your textbooks online
or visit the Campus Shop on the Lex Walters Campus - Greenwood.  You may pay for books and supplies online via credit card or charge against your grant in aid, if an account has been established at the college.  Shipping charges may apply.
