Distance Learning Students

You have come to this page because you are a returning PTC student who plans to take some courses online. You have not taken courses at PTC in the last 12 months. If this page does not apply to you, please try one of our other Distance Learning options.

Enrollment Checklist for
Returning Students Planning to Take Online Courses

1.	Acquaint Yourself with Online Learning
	Before committing to online courses, students should understand what will be required to successfully complete a course: Take the Are DL Courses for Me? Quiz to determine if your learning style, computer skills and level of motivation would make online learning a good choice for you. Review Computer Requirements for the type of distance learning course that you wish to take. Review specific information for each of the distance learning courses that you wish to take.
2.	Apply for Admission
	Returning students who have not been enrolled at Piedmont Technical College for more than one year must complete a new application online, at the Enrollment Center at the Lex Walters Campus-Greenwood or at any county center. All PTC graduates who wish to re-enroll must complete a new application. 3.	Apply for Financial Aid
	Click here to learn about financial aid. You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) immediately to receive lottery tuition or federal financial assistance. Do not wait until classes start!
4.	Complete the Placement Test
	For some returning students, placement testing may be necessary. Please check with an enrollment advisor at a campus near you.
5.	Submit Transcripts
	If you have attended another college and completed college-level coursework since attending Piedmont Technical College, please submit an official transcript. Click here to print a College Transcript Request Form.
6.	Contact an Advisor & Register for Classes
	Consult the Advisor Referral Guide to determine the name of your new academic advisor. Contact your advisor to discuss your academic goals, plan your schedule of classes, register, and receive a printed schedule and an estimate of your tuition and fees.
7.	Access Online Services
	After you have registered, follow the links provided here to access password information for PTC Pathway (a student portal offering grades, tuition balances, news, e-mail,the WebCT Course Management System, etc.).
8.	Order Textbooks
	Order your textbooks online or visit the PTC Campus Shop on the Lex Walters Campus - Greenwood. You may pay for books and supplies online via credit card or charge against your grant in aid, if an account has been established at the college. Shipping charges may apply.
9.	Experience the Planet Piedmont College Orientation
