Policy
on Withdrawals and Return of Funds
If a student
withdraws or is dropped from all of his/her
classes before completing 60% of the semester,
the college is required to prorate the
following awards based on the student’s last
day of attendance in classes: Federal Pell
Grant (PELL), Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG),
and the Federal Supplemental Educational
Opportunity Grant (FSEOG).
The student is required to return to Piedmont
Technical College the portion of the financial
aid that was not earned. No further aid will
be disbursed to the student and their academic
records are frozen until the full amount has
been repaid. Payments should be made to the
Business Office.
Formula for determining Amount of Title IV Aid

If the student
drops after completing 60% of the term, he/she
is considered to have earned 100% of the
financial aid paid for the semester. (Note: A
student’s last day of attendance must fall on
or after the 60% point of the semester.)
Any students considering total withdrawal from
classes should come by the Financial Aid
Office in A-Building to find out how their aid
will be affected and whether or not they will
be liable for any charges.
The 60% point of the semester will be noted on
the school’s calendar each semester.
