Piedmont Technical College participates with the SC State Jobs recruitment system for permanent FTE positions. To apply for a permanent full-time equivalent position, you must go to the state website, www.jobs.sc.gov, search for Piedmont Technical College and apply on-line. Only on-line applications will be accepted. Vacancies will be listed here on our website and you will find a complete listing of all available positions with Piedmont Tech at www.jobs.sc.gov. We no longer accept paper applications, emailed applications, or faxed applications. We only accept on-line applications for advertised vacancies listed on our website. We emphasize that any application, other than those submitted on-line, will not be accepted, reviewed or responded to.

General Application Procedures

 

For permanent FTE vacant positions qualified applicants must cut and paste one document, or attach one document that includes a cover letter and a current resume to the application when completing the State of SC Employment Application on-line at www.jobs.sc.gov. Requested transcripts will be required for faculty positions and may be attached, in the document that includes the cover letter and resume, to the on-line application or mailed to Human Resources, P.O. Box 1467, Greenwood, SC 29648. Transcripts mailed to PTC will be matched with an on-line application.

 

For adjunct faculty or any other temporary contract position qualified applicants must submit a cover letter indicating the position of interest, a current resume and a completed State of SC Employment Application to Human Resources, Piedmont Technical College, P.O. Box 1467, Greenwood, SC 29648.

Responsibilities include teaching, advisement and registration, development of instructional material and curriculum review. Masters in nursing required with minimum of two years of clinical and/or teaching experience at the college level. Must possess unencumbered South Carolina RN license. Position open until filled. Piedmont Technical College seeks a highly motivated and qualified individual to serve as the Statistical Research Analyst for Institutional Research and Planning. The position reports to the Director of Institutional Research and Planning and assists in development of the strategic plan, institutional and program assessment, and accreditation. Responsibilities include collection of data from ERP and legacy computer systems, summarizing collected data, preparation and distribution of data based reports and surveys. The preferred candidate must be able to articulate requirements and work collaboratively with individuals and groups both within the department and across departmental lines. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with database management and computer programming is required. The minimum requirements for the position are a bachelor’s degree, or an associate degree and two (2) years work experience in data management and research functions, or a high school diploma and four (4) years work experience in data management and research functions. Piedmont Technical College invites applications for a full-time Veterinary Technology Instructor. Responsibilities include didactic and laboratory instruction, academic advisement, and planning and delivery of objectives to meet the needs of students.  Applicants must be a DVM and have graduated from an accredited AVMA program, and hold a SC license.  A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience is required.  Faculty member will be expected to be a contributing member leading the program through AVMA initial accreditation. Piedmont Technical College invites applications for a History Instructor. Responsibilities include history and political science instruction as needed on any of Piedmont Technical College’s campuses. Additional duties include student advisement, course development, community and college service, instructional management, and professional development. A master’s degree in history or a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in history is required. Preference will be given to candidates based upon the following selection criteria:

  1. Teaching experience, especially three to five years at the community and technical college level.
  2. Commitment to creating multiple learning options to serve a diverse student body with diverse learning styles and learning needs.
  3. Commitment to improving student learning by the integration of new technology and other innovative approaches to classroom instruction and curriculum design.
  4. Understanding and commitment to the educational philosophy of the public two-year college system.
  5. Willingness to work within a flexible teaching schedule (i.e. day, evening, weekend) and at varied sites (i.e. on-campus, off-campus) and in distance learning formats.
  6. Commitment to interact with students outside a classroom setting as an instructor and an academic advisor.

Part-time Administrative Assistant

 

The Piedmont Technical College Foundation is seeking a 30 hour/week, part-time administrative assistant to support the executive director of the Piedmont Technical College Foundation. Associate degree required. Responsibilities will include general clerical functions, alumni clerical support, some bookkeeping/accounting duties, and overall assistance with the coordination of Foundation events and activities. Efficiency in Raisers Edge fundraising software preferred. Must be a self-starter with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Application deadline is May 30, 2008. Part Time Trades Craftsman

Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications for a part-time trades craftsman at the Newberry County Center. Responsibilities include general maintenance to include daily inspections of building, grounds and parking facilities. Monitor equipment functions, HVAC, plumbing and electrical components. Capable of painting offices, classrooms and other area. Complete assigned work orders and document actions and findings. Perform routine maintenance and preventive maintenance duties. Set up for classroom and conference functions. Perform limited housekeeping and grounds duties.  Inspect the building and assure safety issues are satisfied. Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs. and climb a ladder. Work schedule: Monday through Thursday, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm (varied). Qualified applicants must submit a

PART-TIME FACULTY and TUTOR POSITIONS

 

Piedmont Technical College, a public two year college, is accepting applications for part time instructors to teach courses in the following areas at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or our six county centers in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick during the day, evening and weekends for the summer semester.

 

Biology: Master’s degree, with 18 graduate hours in biology required to teach lecture classes. Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences required for lab instruction.

Clinical Nursing: to teach clinical components of adult and maternal-child health. BSN or Master’s degree with a minimum of two years experience in related nursing area required. Must possess an unencumbered SC RN license.

Computer Technology: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology or Business required. Need instructors for programming languages such as Java, C++, and Visual Basic as well as Networking Instructors certified in A+, Network+, MCP, MCSA, or MCSE.

Developmental English and Reading: B.A. degree in English or B.A. or B.S. degree in Elementary or Secondary Education with a concentration in English required. Experience with Microsoft Office a plus, and some teaching or tutoring experience desirable.

Tutors in all academic areas needed for part-time assistance at all campuses.
