Piedmont Technical College participates with the SC State Jobs recruitment system for permanent FTE positions. General Application Procedures

 

When qualified applicants are completing the State of SC Employment Application on-line at www.jobs.sc.gov for permanent FTE vacant positions, they must either cut and paste one document, or attach one document that includes a cover letter and a current resume to the application. Transcripts will be required for faculty positions and may be attached, inside the document that includes the cover letter and resume, to the on-line application or mailed to Human Resources, P.O. Box 1467, Greenwood, SC 29648. Transcripts mailed to PTC will be matched with an on-line application.

Piedmont Technical College invites applications to fill a Procurement Specialist II position in the Finance Department. Responsibilities include directing all procurement functions and related activities, formulating College Procurement policies and procedures, and preparing all related reports for both the state and federal entities. Additional responsibilities include conducting pre-bid conferences, site visits, awarding contracts, monitoring contracts for compliance, and handling vendor concerns for the College. This position will also issue the College Procurement cards and monitor the card usage for compliance with respective guidelines. The position will be involved in the budget process for all supplies and equipment for the College. Qualified applicants must possess knowledge of legislation, regulations, and policies and procedures governing the procurement of goods and services. The applicant must also have knowledge of current funding sources, the quality of materials being purchased, and the ability to analyze and evaluate factors in the awarding of contracts. The qualified applicant must possess the ability to exercise good judgment and take the initiative dealing with problem solving and prioritizing of job duties. Qualified applicants must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and have the ability to communicate effectively. Piedmont Technical College, a comprehensive two-year technical college located in Greenwood, South Carolina, serves a population of more than 219,000 in a seven-county service area that features a diverse mixture of manufacturing industry, an involved business community and educational institutions. Geographically, Piedmont Technical College is approximately ninety minutes from Columbia, SC; four hours from Myrtle Beach, SC; three hours from historic Charleston, SC; two hours from Charlotte, NC and two hours from the North Carolina mountains.
 
The college offers more than 75 programs leading to an associate degree, diploma or certificate in the technical/occupational disciplines and offers Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees which are transferable to baccalaureate programs. The College has an annual enrollment of approximately 4,800 to 5,500 credit students and employs a permanent faculty and staff of 273. Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications for a Vice President for Educational Affairs. Successful candidates for this position must possess a minimum of a master’s degree in education or a discipline related to programs offered by the college and at least seven (7) years of progressively responsible related work experience. Preference will be given to applicants with earned doctorates and previous administrative experience in higher education at dean-level or higher positions. This position has responsibility for all credit instructional divisions and associated instructional support functions. The primary focus of the VP for Educational Affairs is to develop and implement a comprehensive annual educational plan for the College encompassing an array of educational programs, comprehensive systems of instruction, and academic support services, and assuring student success. This position is a full-time position and reports to the President of the College. Salary for this position is commensurate with education and experience.

DEAN OF HEALTH SCIENCE DIVISION

Piedmont Technical College, a comprehensive two-year technical college located in Greenwood, South
Carolina, is seeking applicants for the position of Dean of the Health Science Division. The person filling this
position will have responsibility for managing, coordinating and planning all activities related to the Health
Science Division of the college. The individual will manage all educational activities related to the division
including: scheduling courses; recruiting and recommending employment of a culturally diverse faculty and
staff; advising and registering students; providing academic and fiscal leadership for the Health Science
Division; and coordination of all other activities necessary for the operation of the division. The Dean will
actively promote divisional and campus programs in the seven-county service area and perform duties as
delegated or assigned by the VP of Academic Affairs. Minimum requirements for the position are a master’s
degree in a Health-Care or Health-Care related field from a regionally accredited institution, a current
license/certification in said area, and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience in the Health-Care
profession. Prefer management/supervisory experience in the administration and operation of a department
or division in a two-year college, proven track record creating and implementing new course/program
offerings, and experience with grant writing. The successful candidate must demonstrate competency in
meeting the following:
 

1.  Ability to plan, direct, coordinate and supervise the personnel, financial and material resources necessary to support the Health Science Division.

2.  Establishing effective communication system between administration and divisional faculty/staff, other institutional divisions, community health-care providers and with public service agencies.  Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills on a daily basis.

3.  Developing a long term strategic plan for the activities and expansion of the Health Science Division and the college.

4.  Providing positive leadership and a managerial style that fosters cooperation within the division  and other functional areas of the college.

5.  Demonstrated knowledge of educational activities at a higher education entity and the ability to work with other community agencies to promote all educational endeavors within the seven-county service area.

6.  Effective utilization of conflict resolution techniques.

7.  Providing effective leadership and guidance in the evaluation and review of existing curriculum and the development and adoption of new programs and courses within the division.

Piedmont Technical College invites applications for the position of an Instructor in a new statewide Cardiovascular Program. General responsibilities include program development, curriculum development, didactic, laboratory and clinical instruction, coordination of the academic and clinical phases of a new Cardiovascular Technician education program. Part-time Administrative Assistant

 

The Piedmont Technical College Foundation is seeking a 30 hour/week, part-time administrative assistant to support the executive director of the Piedmont Technical College Foundation. Associate degree required. Responsibilities will include general clerical functions, alumni clerical support, some bookkeeping/accounting duties, and overall assistance with the coordination of Foundation events and activities. Efficiency in Raisers Edge fundraising software preferred. Must be a self-starter with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Position is open until filled. Part Time Trades Craftsman

Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications for a part-time trades craftsman at the Newberry County Center. Responsibilities include general maintenance to include daily inspections of building, grounds and parking facilities. Monitor equipment functions, HVAC, plumbing and electrical components. Capable of painting offices, classrooms and other area. Complete assigned work orders and document actions and findings. Perform routine maintenance and preventive maintenance duties. Set up for classroom and conference functions. Perform limited housekeeping and grounds duties.  Inspect the building and assure safety issues are satisfied. PART-TIME FACULTY and TUTOR POSITIONS

 

Piedmont Technical College, a public two year college, is accepting applications for part time instructors to teach courses in the following areas at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or our six county centers in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick during the day, evening and weekends for the fall semester beginning August 2008.

 

RN's and LPN's in Continuing ED: RN's needed to teach and LPN's needed to assist with the Nursing Assistant Program offered days, evenings and weekends. Travel to some counties required. RN's must have a minimum of two years nursing experience, at least one year must be in long-term health services. Accounting: Master’s degree required, with 18 graduate hours in Accounting preferred.

Administrative Office Technology: Bachelor’s degree in business or computer-related field. MOUS certification in WORD, EXCEL, and POWERPOINT preferred.

Automotive Technology: Master ASE Certification required or attained within 12 month of hire date. A/C refrigerant certification required or attained within 12 months of hire date. Prefer five (5) years teaching/training experience and five (5) years automotive experience.

Biology: Master’s degree, with 18 graduate hours in biology required to teach lecture classes. Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences required for lab instruction.

Clinical Nursing: to teach clinical components of adult health. BSN or Master’s degree with a minimum of two years experience in related nursing area required. Must possess an unencumbered SC RN license.

Commercial Art: Bachelor’s degree required. Must be experienced in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Design. Professional experience in Commercial Art required.

Developmental English and Reading: B.A. degree in English or B.A. or B.S. degree in Elementary or Secondary Education with a concentration in English required. Experience with Microsoft Office a plus, and some teaching or tutoring experience desirable. Masters preferred.

Developmental Math: BA in Mathematics or Mathematics education and some teaching experience required.

Early Care and Education: minimum requirement of 18 graduate hours in Early Childhood or Infant/Toddler.

English, Philosophy and Speech: Master’s degree in subject or master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in subject material required.

Tutors in all academic areas needed for part-time assistance at all campuses.
