How to Cite a Source

Style guides offer standardized methods for crediting sources that writers use in their research.

Traditional Citations
The two best-known style guides are published by the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Modern Language Association (MLA). Both include formulas for constructing footnotes, endnotes and works cited lists.

Citing Electronic Books
Piedmont's NetLibrary eBook Collection has over 20,000 online versions of published books. After accessing the eBook system, visit the HELP screens to find information and examples for citing E-Books using both APA and MLA styles.

Citing InfoTrac & GaleGroup Database Articles
InfoTrac/GaleGroup is a provider of several PTC Library databases. Click here to view specific information about citing Gale and InfoTrac sources.
