Technical College
People
from all over the region gathered at
Piedmont Tech July 4 for the college’s
Family Fun Day. The college offered music,
rides and concessions, as well as a
spectacular fireworks display.
Billy
Scott, right, got his start right across
the river in Augusta in 1965, and he’s
been making the charts since then. Scott
and the Prophets headlined the musical
entertainment at Piedmont Technical
College’s 17th annual
Fourth of July Family Fun Day.
On stage with him is vocalist
Cindy Floyd.

Reagan
Owens, daughter of Jack and Teresa Owens of
Newberry, enjoys a quiet moment with her
grandfather Gerry Owens at Piedmont Tech’s
17th annual Fourth of July Family
Fun Day. Gerry Owens originated the idea of
the Independence Day celebration as a way to
say “thanks” to the communities who
support the college.

It
was quite a moment for the proud and the brave
at Piedmont Technical College’s Fourth of
July Family Day. The flag raising officially
opened the 17th annual event.
Above, the three-man detail from the
111th Signal Battalion, S.C.
National Guard, pays homage to the real
meaning of the celebration.

the speakers at Piedmont Technical College’s
alumni reunion held during the 17th
annual Fourth of July Family Day.
