Plans for the Piedmont Technical College Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Laurens County were announced in late August 2011, and the project is moving forward quickly. The necessary demolition work is now complete, and construction began in early January.
CeramTec recently made a generous donation to the Piedmont Technical College Foundation toward the new Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Laurens County, a training facility designed to assist the County’s growing manufacturing sector.
Piedmont Technical College’s massage therapy program will be offering its annual massage clinic as part of the training for its students beginning January 17. The clinic will be open to the public Monday-Thursday from 12-3:30 p.m. at the PTC annex building on North Emerald Road.
PTC’s work to implement the Lean methodology in a community college setting has been selected as a finalist for a prestigious 2012 Bellwether Award, which recognizes outstanding, innovative programs and practices that are successfully leading community colleges into the future.
