At Piedmont Tech's recent spring commencement, outstanding students from each of the college's seven supporting counties were honored for academic achievement.

6% of Piedmont Technical College Spring Graduates Were Still in High School

It happens more often than one might think, but it never ceases to impress when young high school students practically earn their higher education certificates and associate degrees before their diplomas. Twenty-three (23) of these young people did just that recently during Piedmont Technical College’s Spring Commencement Exercises. T’Laysha Creswell, a student soon to graduate from McCormick High School’s Middle College, is one of those young people, and just to raise the bar a bit, she also served as a commencement speaker! Talk about poise!

Presidential Medallions Presented at Spring Commencement

Piedmont Technical College (PTC) President Dr. Ray Brooks honored eight college associates and community leaders with the Presidential Medallion, the college’s most prestigious award, at PTC’s recent spring semester commencement exercises. Instituted in 1991 during the college’s silver anniversary celebration, the medallions recognize individuals who have made significant contributions toward excellence in education.

PTC Students Honored for Excellence

Piedmont Technical College (PTC) recently honored the achievements of more than 40 conscientious student leaders at its 45th Annual Student Awards and Recognition Program. PTC President Dr. Ray Brooks welcomed students, faculty, staff, friends and family members to the ceremony on April 24 at the James Medford Family Event Center in Greenwood.

PTC Employees Celebrate Service Milestones

PTC Librarian Yvonne Hudgens and Director of Campus Police and Security Terry Ledford both reached a pinnacle of service at Piedmont Technical College when they were recognized for 40 years of service to the state and college. President Ray Brooks recognized them and 28 other employees who have reached a years-of-service milestone at a luncheon on April 23.

Greenwood Women Care Awards Grant to MODELS Academy

MODELS Academy and Genesis Initiatives Director Steve Coleman of Piedmont Technical College was among eight representatives from local nonprofits to receive grants recently during Greenwood Women Care’s first annual granting cycle.
