Online Tutoring Procedures

  1. Policies for tutoring online are the same as for on-site tutoring

  2. Students using online tutoring must have access to broadband Internet access such as DSL or Cable Modem service and your computer must have a sound card with a microphone. All voice and shared whiteboard or computer screens are managed via the Internet and your computer. The program will ask you to download a Java program the first time you connect. You must allow the download for the program to work. (A Logitech microphone is suggested. A Web cam will also provide video as an option but is not required.)

  3. You need to complete a request for tutoring form either in person by dropping by the Tutoring Center in 178K of the Lex Walters Greenwood Campus, by phone at (864) 941-8435 or online using the online form.

  4. You should indicate you are requesting online tutoring.

  5. The tutoring center will give you the email address of the online tutor. You and the tutor will work out a time convenient for you both for tutoring and the tutor will email you the schedule you agree upon. No more than 2 students plus the tutor can be in the same session online.

  6. Students entering a tutoring session will need to connect to the following address:
