Online Tutoring
Procedures |
- Policies for tutoring online are the same
as for on-site tutoring
- Students using online tutoring must have
access to broadband Internet access such
as DSL or Cable Modem service and your
computer must have a sound card with a
microphone. All voice and shared
whiteboard or computer screens are managed
via the Internet and your computer. The
program will ask you to download a Java
program the first time you connect. You
must allow the download for the program to
work. (A Logitech microphone is suggested.
A Web cam will also provide video as an
option but is not required.)
- You need to complete a
request for
tutoring form either in person by
dropping by the Tutoring Center in 178K of
the Lex Walters Greenwood Campus, by phone
at (864) 941-8435 or online using the
online form.

You should indicate you are requesting
online tutoring.
- The
tutoring center will give you the email
address of the online tutor. You and the
tutor will work out a time convenient for
you both for tutoring and the tutor will
email you the schedule you agree upon. No
more than 2 students plus the tutor can be
in the same session online.

Follow the directions to get started. You
must have a microphone to participate. A
