silvercrescentaward909Packaging Corporation of America took home honors as the Silver Crescent Award winner in the small manufacturer category (100 or less employees) among South Carolina manufacturers at the recent Salute to Manufacturing awards luncheon held at the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing Technology located in Florence.

Silver Crescent Award winners are selected based on economic impact, commitment to the work force and involvement and contributions to their communities. As a local manufacturer of corrugated packaging, PCA-Honea Path is committed to producing a quality product, providing excellent service and promoting a positive work environment for employees.

Title sponsors of this year’s event were Ogletree Deakins and Santee Cooper. PCA was nominated by Piedmont Technical College to receive the award and representatives from the college joined PCA leadership at the event.

“We are proud to have such innovative businesses thriving in the area and are excited to have worked with PCA-Honea Path on this endeavor,” said Trisha Craven, PTC associate vice president of Continuing Education and Economic Development.

In addition to sponsoring PCA-Honea Path in this year’s award competition, Piedmont Technical College was among the founding institutions of the annual exposition, which attracts manufacturers from around the world. AM 84, the first such event, was sponsored by the local institution, along with sister colleges in Greenville, Spartanburg and Pendleton (Tri-County).
