The Piedmont Technical College Foundation will be auctioning a partially assembled 1965 Cobra Factory Five MK4 Roadster Kit Car on Thursday, June 4. It was purchased in 2012 as a Factory Five Racing MK4 Roadster kit and is partially assembled with a 4.6l Ford V-8 Engine, 5-Speed Manual Transmission and Ford 8.8” Rear End. It is approximately 30% complete.

As we all know “Change is Constant” and the direction has changed in the Automotive Technology program at Piedmont Technical College. As such this project kit car is being offered for sale. It was purchased in 2012 as a Factory Five Racing MK4 Roadster kit and is partially assembled with a 4.6l Ford V-8 Engine, 5-Speed Manual Transmission and Ford 8.8” Rear End. It is approximately 30% complete. The original gel coated body still needs to be fitted to the chassis and cutouts made for the side pipes along with all the body work including panel fit and paint. The interior needs to be completely finished. Many parts are still in the original boxes from Factory Five.
This partially assembled kit car” is being sold “AS IS” and the successful buyer must arrange for Pickup in Greenwood, SC. There is NO TITLE, only the original “Certificate of Origin” from Factory Five Racing.

This would make a nice project for someone that still wants to select the final color of the car and make it their own. We highly recommend you double check all fasteners and connections for the safety of all concerned.
