The College of Charleston Collaboration provides prospective freshman transfer students with a successful transition from Piedmont Tech to the College of Charleston. This program is designed to provide students with advising and academic support to help them transfer to the College of Charleston.
CofC Collaboration is open by invitation to freshman applicants who choose to attend Piedmont Technical College during the fall semester and who have been offered a freshman transfer opportunity to the College of Charleston. Students must also meet minimum placement criteria (see below).*
If the student achieves a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 in 15 hours of transferable coursework taken at PTC, then that student’s application will be considered by the Admissions Office at the College of Charleston for the subsequent spring semester. Students must also qualify for enrollment in English 101 and successfully complete this course before transferring to the College of Charleston. If the student does not have the requisite grade point average and earned hours at the end of the fall semester, he/she may choose to defer the admissions application to the subsequent fall semester. In this case, he/she must have earned a 2.6 (if SC resident) or 3.0 (if non-SC resident) grade point average on 30 earned hours. Students will pay tuition and fees for full-time enrollment to the technical college. Students who have filed the FAFSA should add the technical college to the list of colleges to receive the report.
To enroll, apply to PTC either online or in person and identify yourself as a Bridge program student. Visit our admissions page for more detailed application instructions.
