Transfer Students
 
Welcome to Piedmont Technical College!

If you have attended a college or university since high school, then you are considered a Transfer Student.

Enrollment Checklist for Transfer Students

Start Early!  To ensure that your enrollment process goes smoothly, it is suggested that you complete the following steps as soon as possible to avoid delays in transcript evaluation:

1. Apply for Admissions

Click here to learn about financial aid.  You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) immediately to receive lottery tuition or federal financial assistance.  Do not wait until classes start!

 

3. Complete the Placement Test
 
Unless waived by college personnel, you will need to take PTC's placement test.  Click here for for more information on test exemptions and sample test questions.

The placement test is waived if valid transfer credit is awarded in English and math.  To view guidelines outlining how transfer of credit is awarded, please refer to Transfer In

 

4. Submit Transcripts

Submit an official copy of your high school transcript or GED and any college transcripts.

 

5. Meet with an Advisor

Contact a campus near you to determine the name of your academic advisor to plan your schedule of classes.

 

6. Register for Classes

Register for classes and receive a printed schedule and a statement for tuition and fees.

8. Obtain Your PTC Pathway Account Information

Obtain your PTC Pathway PTC ID and PIN. The PTC Pathway Portal allows you to go online to access your academic records, financial statements and certain student services. This is a Piedmont PTC ID and PIN number and differs from your Federal Financial Aid PIN.

 

9. Purchase Textbooks

Purchase your books and supplies in person or online at the PTC Campus Shop.  Books are also available for purchase at the six County Centers on selected dates.
