Students enrolled in an ADN or PN nursing program at another college and who would like to be considered for transfer into a PTC nursing program should complete the following steps.
More than 90% of PTC students receive some form of financial aid. And 7 out of 10 attend tuition free.
Apply for admission to PTC online or in person.
Send official college transcripts to PTC Student Records. General education courses will be evaluated by the Student Records Office.
Send official documentation of high school diploma or GED.
Nursing courses will be evaluated by a nursing transfer committee. Only those nursing courses less than two years old will be accepted for transfer. If a student has more than one withdrawal or failure in any nursing class, the student would not be eligible to be accepted into any of the nursing programs at Piedmont Technical College. Nursing course content must be identical to the PTC Nursing course to be accepted for credit.
Submit nursing course syllabi as requested.
The student must have at least a 2.0 GPA.
The student will be required to complete 25% of the nursing program’s curriculum credit hours at PTC.
The student must take the HOBET V and pass with a score of 65% or higher in both reading and math.
If the student receives credit for only general education classes, the next step is to complete the Health Science and Nursing Information Session and complete the steps given in that session to apply for program acceptance.
If the student receives credit for the needed general education classes, plus any nursing courses, the student should contact Janean Reish, (864-941-8720), to be placed on the transfer list. Admission into the nursing classes is on a space-available basis. Further instructions will be given at that time regarding health records and other documentation.
