MAT 013  Developmental Math Jumpstart  (1 SHC)

·        A review, in a compressed time frame, of basic arithmetic skills, measurement and geometry, basic algebra concepts, and data analysis skills studied in MAT 032/012.

·        The summer term course will be offered T-F, May 3-5  from 8:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m., with open lab time available from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Tues., Wed. and Thurs.  The exam will be held on Friday afternoon.

*    Students earning an 80 or better on the final exam for the course will exempt MAT 032 and move on into Mat 100 or their next math (MAT 160, 170, 104, or 106). 

·        No textbook is required. Students may purchase the academic.com CDs for extra practice and instruction or may work in the TLC where it is loaded on some terminals.    

·        Fast-paced since the instructor will only have time to provide refresher examples and explanation for the course. 

·        Register students for MAT 032/MAT 012.  At the conclusion of the course, developmental math faculty will meet with students and complete drop/adds as needed.

·        Stress that attendance at all four sessions is critical for success.

·        Retesting is also an option.
