Garden Art ImageGraduates of this program may pursue careers in landscape design, implementation, maintenance as well as nursery operations, professional sports turf, lawn care and allied horticulture operations. Graduates can become owners of recreational complexes, golf course superintendents, greens keepers, and landscape supervisors.

Graduates in this field should have:

  • good communication skills

  • ability to work cooperatively with co-workers

  • ability to coordinate, implement, and maintain landscapes

  • flexibility to meet owners wishes

Employment Outlook
Graduates in this field can expect the following developments:

  • salary range: $30,000-45,000 per year entry level, plus benefits

  • 100% placement rate for 2006-2007 graduates

  • owners / operators or professional grounds maintenance business

  • grounds supervisors

  • managers of recreational facilities

  • graduates may advance to supervisors or general landscape contractors, owners and operators of own businesses, park supervisors, golf course superintendents, vocational school instructors, nurserymen, etc.
