Continuing Education Course Credit

Piedmont Technical College has adopted the use of Continuing Education Units (CEU) as a means of recording and accounting for noncredit courses, programs and activities. One CEU is defined as:

"ten contract hours of participations in an organized continuing education, adult or extension experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction."

A permanent record of CEU's earned by each student with fractions of hours to two decimals will be maintained.  Thus, a student satisfactorily completing a course with 17 classroom hours would receive 1.70 CEU's.  A transcript of CEU's earned can be obtained upon request for the registrar.  In addition, certificates of course completion are available on request from the Continuing Education Office.
