Please make yourself aware of the following general policies regarding Continuing Education courses

Catalogs & Schedules

We update program offerings and schedules at least weekly.  You may pick up a catalog at our offices on the Lex Walters Campus or at any of the six County Centers.  If you wish, we will mail you a copy of the current catalog and add you to our mailing list.  Call us at (864) 941-8400 or 1-800-868-5528, or visit this Web site.

Fees

Course fees are due at the time of registration.  We do not permit auditing of classes.

Books & Supplies

Most course fees do not include the cost of books or supplies.  You may purchase them in the PTC Campus Shop on the Lex Walters Campus in Greenwood.  Books and supplies may also be available at the County Centers for programs offered there.  Contact the Campus Shop for more information.

Cancellations

We will call you the day before the scheduled start date if we are forced to cancel a course because of low enrollment.  Many times we must cancel a class that would have made if only a few more people had signed up for it.  To avoid disappointments, sign up early ... and recruit a friend or relative to take the class with you.  If you must cancel, please notify our office at least 48 hours in advance to receive a refund.

Climate Control

We try hard, but climate control is an "iffy" thing.  Be prepared and bring a light sweater or jacket, regardless of season.

Continuing Education Units (CEU's)

We award CEU's to record satisfactory completion of many courses.  One CEU represents 10 contact hours of instructions.  Click here to learn more about CEU's.

Senior Citizen Policy (Plan 60)

Citizens 60 years and older who are legal residents of South Carolina and do not work full-time qualify for special rate classes that have been designed especially for our senior population.  Some personal interest classes may be eligible for a senior discount; this will be determined by the coordinator only after minimum enrollment has been met.  For a guaranteed space in any continuing education classes, seniors must register and confirm with payment.  Refunds are subject to refund policy.

Evaluations

We welcome your comments about our courses.  You will have an opportunity to evaluate your class at the last class meeting.  If you have other comments, please direct them to the appropriate program coordinator or dean.

Refunds

We will mail you a refund if we cancel a course or if you withdraw by notifying us at least 48 hours prior to the start date.  You may request a refund by telephone, fax, mail or in person.  No refunds will be granted after the 48-hour deadline.  If you pay by check, we allow 15 days for your check to clear before processing a refund.
