The Beginner's Guide to Firearm Safety

This NRA Home Firearm Safety course offered by NRA Certified Instructors is for Mom’s, Grandmothers or anyone else with children in homes containing firearms. This comprehensive course presents the basic knowledge and skills and explains the attitude necessary for the safe handling and storing of firearms in the home. The course will also familiarize participants with safe handling procedures and guidelines for storing handguns, rifles and shotguns. The course also covers basic firearm cleaning and maintenance. The course is designed to give the ‘Never Fired a Gun’ or Beginner the knowledge, skills and confidence to handle firearm safety situations in the home.  Upon completion of the course, participants are invited to bring their children/grandchildren to the final class where the students participate by teaching their children portions of the firearm safety lessons learned in class.
