State constables are administratively divided into three groups based on the need for this authority: state constables for government entities, retired police officers and state constable auxiliary. These constables must complete annual inservice training, provided by South Carolina's technical colleges, each fiscal year in which the commission was issued. A copy of the inservice training certificate must be submitted to the SLED Regulatory Department upon completion.
