Nursing Scholarships

Bob Stanley Scholarship
Offered by the Greenwood Mental Health Association, this scholarship is awarded to a Nursing or Psychology major from Greenwood County.  The recipient must be a full-time student accepted into the Nursing or Psychology program and must demonstrate community involvement and academic achievement.

Lena Wood Warren Scholarship
Offered by the associate degree nursing faculty to one May and one December graduating senior to recognize outstanding achievement.  Criteria include:  (1) Satisfactory clinical performance, (2) GPA of 3.0 or above, (3) in good standing in the ADN program, and (4) graduating senior.

Lambda Chi Nu Scholarship
Offered by the Beta Chapter of Lambda Chi Nu to a rising senior who is a member of Lambda Chi Nu.  Criteria include:  (1)  member of Lambda Chi Nu, (2) rising senior, (3) professionalism, and (4) financial need.

Purpose
 
The Nursing Scholarship Program (NSP) provides scholarships to individuals for attendance of schools of nursing.  In exchange for an NSP scholarship, a participant agrees to provide full-time clinical service for not less than 2 years at a health care facility with a critical shortage of nurses.  Under certain circumstances, an individual may complete his or her service obligation on a part-time basis.
 
Eligibility
 
An "eligible applicant" is a U.S. citizen or national who is enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a professional program as a full-time or part-time student in an accredited school of nursing.  Funding preference shall be given to qualified applicants with the greatest financial need.
