Serving Students in Newberry

Located on Wilson Road in the old National Guard Armory, the recently remodeled Newberry County Center now encompasses 30,340 square feet, consisting of classrooms, computer and biology labs, as well as office space - all to serve the citizens of the county. A 150 seat auditorium, which is available to business, industry and the public sector in the county, completes the center.

First opened in 1996, the center has grown dramatically and now counts over 500 credit students in attendance. Offering both credit courses and non-credit continuing education classes, the Center provides students with access to most student services including financial aid, placement testing, career counseling, registration and library services. Students may also pay fees and buy books at the Center.

» Puppet Show To Be Held For Students at NCC!

The Columbia Marionette Theatre will put on a free puppet show, Rockin' Thru the Ages, for students at the Newberry County Center on Monday, Nov. 10th, at 10:00am.

The Columbia Marionette Theatre is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating unique and entertaining puppet shows for all ages, performing classic stories and original productions.  The Executive Director is John Scollon, husband of Karri Scollon, an English instructor at NCC.  Karri acts as costume mistress and part-time puppeteer.  She has also just been elected President of the Puppetry Guild of the Carolinas, chartered under the Puppeteers of America.

Prof. Scollon and her husband bring shows to NCC to add another medium to the educational process and expose students to the world of puppetry.
