graduation511The Finis Horne Arena at Lander University was the setting for the culmination of many dreams for the more than 450 Piedmont Technical College graduates who took center stage.

Dr. Ray Brooks, president, welcomed graduates, family and guests to celebrate a milestone in their lives.

Scholarships Presented at Luncheon Honoring Donors, Recipients

Piedmont Technical College recently held its annual Scholarship luncheon. The following recipients were among those honored:

 

 

President's, Dean's & Merit Lists Announced

Piedmont Technical College students who had outstanding academic accomplishments during the 2011 spring semester have earned inclusion on the President’s List. To be named to the list, students must be full-time and earn a term GPA of 4.00. Students will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the college president.

Nursing Graduates Recognized at Pinning Ceremony

Recent graduates of Piedmont Technical College’s practical nursing and associate degree nursing programs at the Greenwood campus were recognized in a pinning ceremony in August.

 

Dream It! Do It! Community Night Coming Up in Edgefield

Piedmont Technical College will be hosting a Dream It Do It community night for Edgefield County Monday, August 29 at Strom Thurmond High School. The event will be in the school cafeteria from 5-7 p.m. Dinner will be provided.

Dream !t Do !t (DIDI) is designed to strengthen partnerships between high schools, area manufacturers and the technical colleges.

“The biggest issue for the manufacturers is their need for workers who are skilled in specific areas,” said Rusty Denning, associate vice president of Continuing Education and Economic Development.

Piedmont Tech to Provide Public Computer Labs through Grant

Piedmont Technical College now provides public computer labs at all locations in all seven of the counties it serves. The labs are staffed by knowledgeable personnel who are available to help computer users. These labs are available through the $437,000 grant Piedmont Tech received with the SC Technical College System, as part of a grant for $5.9M by the US Department of Commerce – National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).

Spring VIP Opens at Piedmont Tech Following Record Fall

After a record-setting fall enrollment, officials at PTC are looking forward to a good turnout this spring as the VIP registration period draws near.

Registration for the spring term begins November 1 and runs through November 30. Students who register during this period become “VIPs” and receive their first choice of classes and a $25 registration fee waiver.

Piedmont Tech Welcomes New Presidential Ambassadors

presidentialambassadors1111Each year, Piedmont Technical College chooses some of its best and brightest to serve as Presidential Ambassadors. These students represent the college at campus functions, provide tours and speak about their experiences to potential students.

PTC's Cobra Drawing Finalists Named

newcobratickets1011The Piedmont Technical College Foundation held its drawing for the 10 finalists for the 1965 student-built Cobra Replica Monday.
