Darlene Saxon: PTC Grad Makes Her Mark

darlene-saxon-profileDarlene Saxon, a 2009 PTC graduate, had always wanted to be a teacher. Little did she know how she would accomplish that goal, especially since she didn’t attend college right after high school.

“I remember being very excited at my high school graduation,” she says. “But I noticed that many of my friends were making plans to further their education. They were making plans for college.”

Horticulture Program Welcomes New Coordinator

Abbeville Student Finds Niche at Piedmont Tech

drewjefferies1110Drew Jefferies followed the same path as many high school graduates. He found a subject he thought he was interested in and enrolled at a large university.

Turns out, that’s not the path he was meant to take.

Jefferies was accepted at Clemson University and enrolled in the engineering program. But, he found himself overwhelmed.

FAFSA Days at Piedmont Tech Help Students Prepare for College

February is Financial Aid Awareness Month, and Piedmont Technical College will be hosting a series of events designed to help college bound students understand the options that are available to them to make college more affordable.

“A great amount of financial aid is available each year. Students just need to apply,” said Missy Perry, financial aid director at Piedmont Technical College.

Academic Honor Students Recognized for 2012 Fall Semester

Piedmont Technical College students who had outstanding academic accomplishments during the 2012 fall semester have earned inclusion on the President’s List. To be named to the list, students must be full time and earn a term GPA of 4.00. Students will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the college president.

PTC Wins Prestigious Bellwether Award

Piedmont Technical College’s implementation of Lean in Higher Education has been awarded the prestigious 2013 Bellwether Award, which recognizes outstanding and innovative programs in community college education. The winners were announced earlier today at the Community College Futures Assembly (CCFA) annual meeting in Orlando.

Students Head Back to Class for Spring

Students at Piedmont Technical College recently headed back to class. Interested students still have time to enroll for Late Term, which begins February 19.
