Eaton Corporation Continues Support of Engineering Education with Donation

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation recently made a generous $25,000 donation to the Piedmont Technical College Foundation. 

Project Genesis Addresses Educational Crisis

Through a new program called Project Genesis, Piedmont Technical College is taking action to address a problem of national proportions.

“There is a crisis among African American males in education,” said Steve Coleman, director of Project Genesis. “Piedmont Technical College has recognized this crisis and we are working to provide a targeted group of men with the necessary resources for success.”

Piedmont Tech Provides Free Workshops

Through SC REACH for Success, a statewide network of Public Computer Centers (PCCs) has been established. For Piedmont Tech, this initiative means that computer labs at all seven campuses have been updated and are ready for public use.  

“This is a wonderful opportunity for people in all seven counties we serve,” said Jennifer Wilbanks, dean of county campuses. “These PCCs will help us provide computer access to many people who otherwise would not have it.”

Agriculture and Horticulture Programs Receive Honors

The diversified agriculture and horticulture programs at Piedmont Technical College continue to garner accolades from across the State.

Area College Students Head Back to Class

Students at Piedmont Technical College recently headed back to class. Interested students still have time to enroll for Late Term, which begins September 26.

 

 

New Dean of Nursing Named

Piedmont Technical College has named Tara Harris the college’s dean of Nursing. Harris replaces Rosalie Stevenson who retired in July after 32 years of service to PTC.

Area Nursing Students Honored

Recent graduates of Piedmont Technical College’s nursing program at the Greenwood campus were recognized in a pinning ceremony in August.

Students Honored at PTC Graduation

At Piedmont Technical College’s recent summer commencement exercises, outstanding students from each of the college’s seven supporting counties were honored for academic achievement.

 

PTC Awards Presidential Medallions at Commencement Exercises

Piedmont Technical College president Dr. Ray Brooks, back center, honored six college associates with the Presidential Medallion, the institution’s most prestigious award, at PTC’s recent commencement exercises. Instituted in 1991 during the college’s silver anniversary celebration, the medallions recognize individuals who have made significant contributions toward excellence in education.

Foster Named Associate VP of Institutional Assessment and Compliance

Piedmont Technical College President Dr. Ray Brooks has named Dr. Donna Foster the college’s Associate Vice President of Institutional Assessment and Compliance.

Foster joined the college in 1992 as the developmental mathematics coordinator and a member of the math faculty. Most recently, she served as dean of arts and sciences.
