Piedmont Technical College to Hold Commencement August 2

Piedmont Technical College will be holding two summer commencement exercises on August 2. 

Commencement exercises will begin at 3 p.m. for Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, business and information technology, industrial and engineering technology graduates. A 7 p.m. ceremony will be held for health science and nursing graduates. Both commencement exercises will be held in the Multipurpose building at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood.

Piedmont Tech Grad Thrives in Apprenticeship

Kenny Price had his foot in the door with Burnstein von Seelen even before he completed his machine tool technology degree at Piedmont Technical College.

The Abbeville company took Price on as an apprentice in the Tool and Die division, which has now led to a full-time position with the company. 

And they’re looking for even more machinists.

Outstanding Students Honored

At Piedmont Technical College’s recent spring commencement exercises, outstanding students from each of the college’s seven supporting counties were honored for academic achievement.



Fujifilm Team Takes Industry Cup Victory

A team of four representing Fujifilm captured the 18th Industry Cup at the 20th annual Piedmont Technical College Foundation Golf Classic. Fran Wiley, executive director of the Piedmont Technical College Foundation and tournament coordinator, center, presented the trophy to the winning foursome. Beating out over 17 other teams with a gross score of 56, the winners were, from left to right, Andy Dutton, Wiley, Jim Lane and Hugo Perez. Not pictured is Matt Broadwell.

Piedmont Technical College Honors Graduates

The Finis Horne Arena at Lander University was the setting for the culmination of many dreams for the more than 500 Piedmont Technical College graduates who took center stage.

Dr. Ray Brooks, president, welcomed graduates, family and guests to celebrate a milestone in their lives. He compared their educational journey to taking a road trip.

PTC Benefactors and Community Leaders Honored

Benefactors and community leaders joined together at Piedmont Technical College recently to celebrate the successes of the past year with the annual benefactors’ event.

Fran Wiley, Piedmont Technical College Foundation executive director, welcomed those in attendance. The event was to honor Cornerstone Society members and benefactors who had contributed to the growth and success of the college.
