PTC Center for Advanced Manufacturing Opens for Classes

center for advanced manufacturingThe Piedmont Technical College Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Laurens County is now open for business.

The Center opened in late May by providing three training programs for two local companies in the first week of operation, and the facility has been bustling ever since. 

PTC Launches QuickSkills Training Program for ZF Group

Piedmont Technical College has collaborated with ZF Group to design three certificates that will prepare students directly for entry-level employment at the new transmission facility in Laurens County.

Luncheon Held for Scholarship Winners, Donors

Piedmont Technical College Honors Graduates

The Finis Horne Arena at Lander University was the setting for the culmination of many dreams for the more than 500 Piedmont Technical College graduates who took center stage.

Dr. Ray Brooks, president, welcomed graduates, family and guests to celebrate a milestone in their lives. He compared their educational journey to taking a road trip.

ZF Helps PTC Prepare Equipment for New Facility

Employees from ZF Group recently assisted Piedmont Technical College in preparing the KUKA robots that will be part of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Laurens while also participating in training. Piedmont Technical College to Hold Commencement June 1

More than 500 graduates of Piedmont Technical College will receive certificates, diplomas and associate degrees during spring commencement exercises on June 1. 

Commencement exercises will begin at 7 p.m. at the Finis Horne Arena at Lander University, and graduates as well as guests are encouraged to arrive early. Once occupancy reaches capacity, additional guests will not be permitted to enter. 

Commercial Art Program Expands Offerings to Laurens and McCormick

Piedmont Technical College is expanding its commercial art program with the addition of photography classes at the Laurens County and McCormick County campuses.

Beginning in the fall, Photography I, the basic digital photography class, will be offered at the Laurens County and McCormick County campuses. Classes will be held beginning at 5:30 p.m. to accommodate anyone interested in taking a basic course.

Piedmont Tech Recognizes Employees for 280 Years of Service

Awards for service to Piedmont Technical College totaling 280 years were presented at a recent luncheon.

NHC of Laurens Aids Nursing Program at PTC

National Health Care (NHC) of Laurens recently made a generous donation to the Nursing program at Piedmont Technical College to assist with education in the field of geriatrics.
