PTC Journeyman Welding Certificate Now Offered in Laurens County

In an ongoing effort to push more full programs out to the counties surrounding Greenwood, Piedmont Technical College now offers the full Journeyman Welding Certificate in Laurens County.

Registration is now open for the upcoming fall term, which begins on August 24.

This offering has been made possible through an ongoing partnership with Laurens District 55.

President's, Dean's & Merit Lists Announced

Piedmont Technical College students who had outstanding academic accomplishments during the 2011 spring semester have earned inclusion on the President’s List. To be named to the list, students must be full-time and earn a term GPA of 4.00. Students will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the college president.

At Piedmont Technical College’s recent summer commencement exercises, outstanding students from each of the college’s seven supporting counties were honored for academic achievement.

 

 

PTC Welcomes Students Back to Class

Students at Piedmont Technical College recently headed back to class. Interested students still have time to enroll for Late Term, which begins September 27.

PTC Sponsors Fall Kick-off and Club Fair

Students at Piedmont Technical College were treated to a Fall Kick-off and Club Fair Wednesday. Organizations and clubs on campus provided information to students during the fall kick-off as well as provided a free hot dog lunch. The annual event welcomes students back to class and introduces them to the clubs and organizations available on campus.

 

 

Piedmont Tech to Provide Public Computer Labs through Grant

Piedmont Technical College now provides public computer labs at all locations in all seven of the counties it serves. The labs are staffed by knowledgeable personnel who are available to help computer users. These labs are available through the $437,000 grant Piedmont Tech received with the SC Technical College System, as part of a grant for $5.9M by the US Department of Commerce – National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).

QuickSkills Training Program Opens Doors to Manufacturing

Piedmont Technical College is offering three certificates that will open doors for students to seek entry-level employment in manufacturing in Laurens County.

The QuickSkills program offers three different concentrations: Manufacturing Assembly Operator, Quality Assurance Technician, and CNC Operations. The coursework will be offered at the newly operational PTC Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM) in Laurens County.

Tau Alpha Pi Inducts New Members

taualphapi1011Eleven new members were recently inducted into the Tau Alpha Pi National Honor Society at Piedmont Technical College. Tau Alpha Pi is the national honor society for engineering technology, just as Phi Beta Kappa is for liberal arts and Tau Beta Pi is for engineering. Founded in 1953 and managed for more than 30 years by engineering technology educator Frederick J.

Spring VIP Opens at Piedmont Tech Following Record Fall

After a record-setting fall enrollment, officials at PTC are looking forward to a good turnout this spring as the VIP registration period draws near.

Registration for the spring term begins November 1 and runs through November 30. Students who register during this period become “VIPs” and receive their first choice of classes and a $25 registration fee waiver.

Piedmont Tech Welcomes New Presidential Ambassadors
