Piedmont Tech Kicks Off Black History Month Activities with Unity Feast Print E-mail

unityfeast210Students, faculty and staff at Piedmont Technical College gathered for a campus-wide Unity Feast Wednesday. The event kicked off a series of Black History Month events at the college.

Students, faculty and staff will participate in an Open Mic Poetry Reading on Wednesday, Feb. 17 in the Student Center on the Lex Walters campus in Greenwood.

All black history month events are coordinated by the Ebony Club and advisors Steve Coleman and Reggie King. An organization open to all students, the Ebony Club strives to provide cultural and educational activities and to promote diversity and leadership. In addition to Black History Month activities, the club sponsors a community-wide Street Festival each fall to promote minority-owned businesses.
