Piedmont Technical College will once again be offering Instant Admissions Day this summer to make enrolling in college easy.
Instant Admissions Day will be Thursday, May 1 for summer registration. Admissions and financial aid counselors will be on hand to help students through the entire enrollment process in just one day.
“We wanted to provide students with a one-stop option to enroll in classes,” said Sydney Crawford, admissions counselor.
During the Instant Admissions Day, students can apply, take the placement test, complete the FAFSA for financial aid and register for classes with a counselor. The one-day event came about to help students who had expressed an interest in classes at Piedmont Tech, but had not yet applied for admissions or registered for classes.
“Some prospective students can find the process a little overwhelming,” said Crawford. “We wanted them to see that they are not alone.”
The schedule for the day will allow students to register in an enjoyable environment. Tours will be provided along with the opportunity for students to meet with faculty from the areas they are interested in pursuing.
Instant Admissions Day will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students interested in attending should bring their official high school transcript or GED Score report; official college transcripts if they have completed any previous college courses; a photo ID; and their 2012 tax return forms. The process will take two to four hours to complete, but will include everything the student will need to enroll in classes.
“Our goal here at Piedmont Technical College is to help students transform their lives,” Crawford said. “Instant admissions is designed to help students move on to the next step – to achieve their goals.”
