Scholarships Presented at Annual Luncheon

Piedmont Technical College recently held its annual Scholarship luncheon. The following recipients were among those honored:

 

adamsscholarship311Piedmont Technical College student and Saluda resident Elizabeth Morris (left) received the Alfred and Miriam Adams Endowed Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Morris, an associate degree nursing student, is pictured with scholarship donor Miriam Adams. The scholarship is awarded annually to a Saluda County resident.

 

 

 

 

 

norawellscoonerscholarship311Two Piedmont Technical College students received the Nora Wells Cooner Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, Derrell Bartley of the family; Antoinette Ingram, a practical nursing major from Simpsonville; Marie Nicole Sears, a practical nursing student from Hodges; and Jo Bartley, scholarship donor and daughter of the late Nora Wells Cooner. The scholarship is awarded annually to full-time students with a minimum 2.5 grade point average and is based on financial need.

 

 

 

 

 

annieleeswygertscholarship311Piedmont Technical College student and Iva resident Travis Bombay (right) was recently awarded the Annie Lee Swygert Scholarship. Bombay, an associate in arts student, is congratulated by Gus Burgdorf, PTC Foundation development associate. The scholarship is awarded each year based on academic achievement and financial need to a South Carolina resident.

 

 

 

 

 

cythomasonscholarship311Piedmont Technical College student and Waterloo resident Michael Weathers (left) recently received the C.Y. Thomason, Sr. Memorial Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Weathers, a building construction technology student, is congratulated by Bill Thomason, scholarship donor and presenter. Named for Thomason’s grandfather, C.Y. Thomason, who was a contractor for 50 years, the scholarship is awarded annually to a student in the Building Construction Technology program.

 

 

 

 

 

Piedmont Technical College veterinary technology major Holly Rister from Prosperity recently received the “Lady Bug" Scholarship. Awards were presented at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon where a record number of award winners were recognized for the 2010-2011 academic year.
