Piedmont Technical College (PTC) will hold two in-person summer commencement exercises on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, in Greenwood. 

Agreement Supports Transfer of PTC Commercial Art Graduates to Francis Marion University

Piedmont Technical College (PTC) and Francis Marion University (FMU) recently formalized an agreement designed to expedite the transfer process for eligible PTC Commercial Art AAS graduates. The move establishes a pathway to a bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts for Graphic Design or Visual Arts for Photography at FMU. 

PTC Innovation Team of the Year Redefines Creative Collaboration

The Piedmont Technical College (PTC) Area Commission presented the college’s 2022 Innovation Team of the Year Award to the PTC Economic Development Team at a meeting earlier this year. Members of the team include: President Dr. Hope E. Rivers, Dean of Engineering and Industrial Technology Dr. Alvie Coes III, Associate Vice President for Economic Development and Continuing Education Rusty Denning, readySC™ Area Director Susan Heath, Mechatronics Technology Program Director Sam George, Machine Tool Technology Program Director Phillip Calhoun, Welding Program Director Jim Ladd, and Training Coordinator Trish Buis.

Ascend Cares Foundation Gift Will Light the Way for EMT Students

The Ascend Cares Foundation recently donated $4,000 to the Piedmont Technical College Foundation (PTC) to enable the purchase of three King Vision™ Video Laryngoscope Kits. The state-of-the-art kits will be used for training in the PTC Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic programs. 

PTC Academic Honor Students Recognized for 2022 Spring Semester

Piedmont Technical College students who had outstanding academic accomplishments during the 2022 spring semester have earned inclusion on the President’s List. To be named to the list, students must be full time and earn a term GPA of 4.00. Students will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the college president.

First Cohort of Expanded Middle College Program Graduates

The first cohort of 38 Middle College students from three school districts (Greenwood, Laurens, and Newberry counties) who began their journey two years ago graduated from Piedmont Technical College (PTC) in May with associate degrees.
