What they will do on their weekly “PTC Live” events on Facebook is provide information about PTC programs, financial aid, stress management and more. The college welcomes input and live questions to keep the discussion going. For many PTC faculty and staff, their commitment is personal.

Pharmacy Graduate At Home on Front Lines at Self Regional Healthcare

Even during pandemic stay-at-home orders, the hospital pharmacy never closes. Piedmont Technical College (PTC) Pharmacy Technology graduate Pharrell King has firsthand knowledge of this. He works full-time in the Inpatient Pharmacy Department at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood. And while King literally leaves his house each day to clock in for his shift at Self, he very much remains happily “at home.”

Piedmont Tech Launches New HVAC Certificate

Piedmont Technical College (PTC) has introduced a new credential to its HVAC course offerings. “Intro to HVAC” ― a “stackable certificate” ― is designed for people who already are working in the HVAC field and need the EPA Section 608 Technician Certification in order to transport refrigerants. It also provides a means for someone who has never worked in the HVAC field to receive some initial exposure and learn how to obtain an entry-level position in the industry.

SC WINS: More Students Can Attend College at No Cost for Tuition and Fees

Members of the South Carolina General Assembly last year passed legislation ― SC WINS ― allocating $17 million for scholarships to address specific workforce shortages, including those in advanced manufacturing. The scholarship supplements Lottery Tuition Assistance to help further reduce tuition costs for eligible students this fall.

Piedmont Tech Adds Vascular Sonography Certificate

Piedmont Technical College (PTC) is adding a Vascular Sonography Certificate to its Cardiovascular Technology offerings for the spring 2021 semester. Vascular sonography utilizes ultrasound to perform diagnostic testing on patients’ arteries and veins. It is primarily used in the diagnosis of blood clots, blockages and aneurysms.
