Industrial partners who participate in the
Advanced Technical Education (ATE) Scholar's
consortium work with Piedmont
Technical College to assist in developing
engineering technicians who can help them solve
industry based problems.
ATE Scholars
are engineering technology (ET) students who
work closely with employers in industries
located in the Piedmont Area Consortium and
around the world.
Industry
sponsors provide scholarships, text books and
school supplies along with internships for
students enrolled in programs featuring the SC
ATE Engineering Technology core curriculum.
Currently,
seven students have participated in the Scholars
program in the Piedmont Area Consortium and this
number continues to increase. Cooper Power
Systems, Timken and
Kaiser Aluminum
continue to pave the way in helping to
"grow" engineering technicians in this
area of the State.
