The South Carolina Advanced Technological
Education (SC ATE) National Resource Center for
Engineering Technology (ET) Education serves as
one of the central resources for the two-year
colleges for the Engineering Technology
Community. The SC ATE National Resource
Center's activities focus on developing and
implementing best practices. Attention is
also given to the development and distribution
of exemplary materials for recruiting and
retaining ATE students until they graduate.
EVALUATION
PROCESS
The evaluation
process focuses on promoting and assessing the
Center's goals and objectives. The
center's supervisors work cooperatively with
external and internal evaluators, its National
Visiting Committee and other participants to
evaluate the Center's progress. Each
objective such as providing staff development,
adaptation and dissemination of materials,
student achievement and their success rate and
industry involvement and satisfaction are
evaluated on a regular basis using a variety of
methods. Some of these methods of
collecting data include survey instruments,
evaluation forms, interviews, interview scales
and observation.
