Piedmont Technical College students who had outstanding academic accomplishments during the 2011 spring semester have earned inclusion on the President’s List. To be named to the list, students must be full-time and earn a term GPA of 4.00. Students will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the college president.
Recent graduates of Piedmont Technical College’s practical nursing and associate degree nursing programs at the Greenwood campus were recognized in a pinning ceremony in August.
Students at Piedmont Technical College recently headed back to class. Interested students still have time to enroll for Late Term, which begins September 27.

Students at Piedmont Technical College were treated to a Fall Kick-off and Club Fair Wednesday. Organizations and clubs on campus provided information to students during the fall kick-off as well as provided a free hot dog lunch. The annual event welcomes students back to class and introduces them to the clubs and organizations available on campus.
Piedmont Technical College now provides public computer labs at all locations in all seven of the counties it serves. The labs are staffed by knowledgeable personnel who are available to help computer users. These labs are available through the $437,000 grant Piedmont Tech received with the SC Technical College System, as part of a grant for $5.9M by the US Department of Commerce – National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
Eleven new members were recently inducted into the Tau Alpha Pi National Honor Society at Piedmont Technical College. Tau Alpha Pi is the national honor society for engineering technology, just as Phi Beta Kappa is for liberal arts and Tau Beta Pi is for engineering. After a record-setting fall enrollment, officials at PTC are looking forward to a good turnout this spring as the VIP registration period draws near.
Registration for the spring term begins November 1 and runs through November 30. Students who register during this period become “VIPs” and receive their first choice of classes and a $25 registration fee waiver.
Each year, Piedmont Technical College chooses some of its best and brightest to serve as Presidential Ambassadors. These students represent the college at campus functions, provide tours and speak about their experiences to potential students.
