Officials at Piedmont Technical College are looking forward to a good turnout for the summer term as the VIP registration period draws near.
Registration for the summer term begins April 1 and runs through April 30. Students who register during this period become “VIPs” and receive their first choice of classes and a $25 registration fee waiver.
“We will have a wide array of offerings in all of our programs,” said Jennifer Wilbanks, interim vice president for academic affairs.
More than 350 Piedmont Technical College students and alumni recently took advantage of the college’s 32nd annual Employers Day. Representatives from more than 50 businesses, industries and service agencies were on hand to offer information about current and future job opportunities.
Pottery lovers and shoppers will once again have an opportunity to see the work of local pottery students as Piedmont Technical College hosts its Spring Pottery Show and Sale. The exhibit and sale will feature the works of students enrolled in the Professional Clay certificate program.
More than 30 colleges and universities were in attendance recently at a College Transfer Fair sponsored by Piedmont Technical College. The fair was provided to give students information on special bridge programs and transfer pathways.
Meeting the workforce training needs of business and industry is a major part of Piedmont Technical College’s mission. PTC’s Continuing Education Division specializes in offering a wide range of customized training programs on a regular basis. One example of this specialization is a condensed CNC (Computer Numerical Control) class recently created for ZF Transmissions.
Lambda Chi Nu, the nursing honor society at Piedmont Technical College, was recently recognized with the Student Community Involvement Project award sponsored by the South Carolina Technical Education Association (SCTEA).
As part of its continuing efforts to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics, the engineering technology program and Tau Alpha Pi, the engineering technology honor society at Piedmont Technical College, recently celebrated National Engineers Week.
Piedmont Technical College will sponsor a College Transfer Fair Tuesday, March 11 in the James Medford Family Event Center on the Lex Walters Campus. More than 30 colleges and universities will be in attendance to give students information on special bridge programs and transfer pathways. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Legal, law enforcement and corrections jobs are hot commodities in today’s job market. The criminal justice program at Piedmont Technical College provides students with the training they need to get started in these exciting careers and now they have raised the bar with the addition of state-of-the-art training equipment.
Piedmont Technical College and Webster University recently signed an articulation agreement that will allow students to begin their studies at PTC, and then transfer to Webster.
