The Finis Horne Arena at Lander University was the setting for the culmination of many dreams for the more than 500 Piedmont Technical College graduates who took center stage.

Dr. Ray Brooks, president, welcomed graduates, family and guests to celebrate a milestone in their lives. He compared their educational journey to taking a road trip.

More than 500 graduates of Piedmont Technical College will receive certificates, diplomas and associate degrees during spring commencement exercises on June 1. 

Commencement exercises will begin at 7 p.m. at the Finis Horne Arena at Lander University, and graduates as well as guests are encouraged to arrive early. Once occupancy reaches capacity, additional guests will not be permitted to enter.

Awards for service to Piedmont Technical College totaling 280 years were presented at a recent luncheon.

Patrick Campbell is in high demand in Abbeville. The owner and operator of Abbeville Computer Service is finding that he stays busy meeting the needs of local residents and businesses.

Business is booming, he says. After making a full-time commitment to his business in 2009, demand for his services has been constant. “I rarely have time to sit down and not have anything to do,” Campbell said.

At Piedmont Technical College’s 38^th annual Student Awards and Recognition Program, president Dr. Ray Brooks applauded the achievements of more than 75 student leaders. The ceremony attracted students, faculty, staff, friends and family members.

An interest in health and wellness, a solid understanding of how the human body works and a desire to help people are the perfect combination for a successful career in massage therapy.

And right now, massage therapy is one of the fastest growing career fields in the nation.
