D2L will be down for extended maintenance and a major upgrade from 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 8 until 12 p.m. on Monday, May 12. The system will be fully operational by noon on May 12 and all spring semester courses will be viewable by students until midnight Sunday, May 18. Students may check their grades in Pathway starting May 8. Pathway will not be down.

Piedmont Technical College to Hold Commencement May 8

Piedmont Technical College will be holding two spring commencement exercises on May 8. 

Commencement exercises will begin at 3 p.m. for Associate in Arts and Associate in Science, business, computer technology and public service graduates. A 7 p.m. ceremony will be held for agriculture, industrial and engineering technology, health science and nursing graduates. Both commencement exercises will be held in the James Medford Family Event Center at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood.

Instant Admissions Day To Be Offered at Piedmont Tech

Piedmont Technical College will once again be offering Instant Admissions Day this summer to make enrolling in college easy.

Instant Admissions Day will be Thursday, May 1 for summer registration. Admissions and financial aid counselors will be on hand to help students through the entire enrollment process in just one day.

“We wanted to provide students with a one-stop option to enroll in classes,” said Sydney Crawford, admissions counselor.

PTC Hosts Workshop for Education Professionals

Guidance Counselors ToursPiedmont Technical College recently hosted area guidance counselors and career development specialists for an in-service workshop. The event drew professionals from across the seven counties. 

The event was begun to allow schools, colleges and communities to collaborate on improving the implementation of the S.C. Education and Economic Development Act (EEDA) of 2005. 

Piedmont Tech Partners with Scotts for Apprenticeship

Piedmont Technical College has partnered with Scotts Miracle Gro to offer apprenticeship opportunities for students in the horticulture technology and diversified agriculture programs.

“This is a great arrangement for Scotts and our students,” said Hugh Bland, diversified agriculture program coordinator. “The company will have representatives who not only can work just part of the year, but who will have the knowledge to answer customer questions.”

Summer VIP Opens at Piedmont Tech

Officials at Piedmont Technical College are looking forward to a good turnout for the summer term as the VIP registration period draws near. 

Registration for the summer term begins April 1 and runs through April 30. Students who register during this period become “VIPs” and receive their first choice of classes and a $25 registration fee waiver.

 “We will have a wide array of offerings in all of our programs,” said Jennifer Wilbanks, interim vice president for academic affairs.
