Piedmont Technical College is expanding its mechatronics program to the high schools in Newberry.
At the urging of local industry, the mechatronics program has been added to the curriculum of the Newberry County Career Center.

Eddie Brown feels that he’s found his calling in respiratory care. And he loves every minute of it. “When you come to work, you shouldn’t look at it as work,” he said. “Look at it as a career.”
Brown came to Piedmont Tech following a career in juvenile corrections.

Scholarships were awarded recently at a luncheon honoring donors and recipients.
Marilyn Sease considers herself blessed to be a part of the Newberry Campus of Piedmont Technical College.
“I had such a pleasant experience as a student at Piedmont Tech,” Sease said. “They were so full of encouragement that I knew the institution would be a fine place to be employed.”
Awards for service to Piedmont Technical College totaling 280 years were presented at a recent luncheon.
At Piedmont Technical College’s 38th annual Student Awards and Recognition Program, president Dr. Ray Brooks applauded the achievements of more than 75 student leaders. The ceremony attracted students, faculty, staff, friends and family members.
