The James Medford Family Event Center at Piedmont Technical College was the setting for the culmination of many dreams for the more than 300 Piedmont Technical College graduates who took center stage in two commencement ceremonies.
Dr. Ray Brooks, president, welcomed graduates, family and guests to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduates.
Piedmont Technical College will be holding two spring commencement exercises on May 9.
Piedmont Technical College is providing more tools to help students complete a degree and enter the workforce. Through the Journey grant program, Piedmont Tech is introducing Career Coach.
At Piedmont Technical College’s 39th annual Student Awards and Recognition Program, president Dr. Ray Brooks applauded the achievements of more than 75 student leaders. The ceremony attracted students, faculty, staff, friends and family members.
Piedmont Technical College will once again be offering Instant Admissions Days this summer to make enrolling in college easy.
Instant Admissions Days will be Thursday, May 2 for Summer and Fall registration. Other Instant Admissions Days will be June 27, July 18 and August 1 for students interested in enrolling for Fall. Admissions and financial aid counselors will be on hand to help students through the entire enrollment process in just one day.
While college affordability and increasing tuition rates continue to get headlines across the country, families in Piedmont Technical College’s service area have been taking advantage of one of the best deals in higher education for more than 10 years.
Piedmont Technical College will host a brand new event Saturday, April 13.
Circus Stella is a one-ring circus featuring husband and wife team Dextre Tripp and Jayna Lee with their performing puppies. The team has appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show, NBC’s The Today Show, CBS’s The Early Show, America’s Got Talent and the MTV Music Awards as well as many renaissance festivals.
More than 200 Piedmont Technical College students and alumni recently took advantage of the college’s 31st annual Employers Day. Representatives from over 60 businesses, industries and service agencies were on hand to offer information about current and future job opportunities.

Murdock earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Clemson University. Following graduation, he opened his own landscaping company. But he decided that wasn’t for him.
“Self-employment is a 24/7 job,” Murdock said. “I enjoyed it and we did well, but I wanted to do something else.”
More than 30 colleges and universities were in attendance recently at a College Transfer Fair sponsored by Piedmont Technical College. The fair was provided to give students information on special bridge programs and transfer pathways.
