Piedmont Tech to Offer Diversified Agriculture Degree

Piedmont Technical College now offers a pathway to a career in agriculture that can be found nowhere else in South Carolina. Beginning in the fall of 2011, the college will be offering an associate degree in diversified agriculture, the only degree of its kind in the state.

The new degree has been the goal since the program began in 2009. The agriculture curricula began with a basic and an advanced diversified agriculture certificate. The basic certificate will continue to be offered.

Piedmont Technical College students who had outstanding academic accomplishments during the 2011 spring semester have earned inclusion on the President’s List. To be named to the list, students must be full-time and earn a term GPA of 4.00. Students will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the college president.

Piedmont Tech Expands Facility for Diversified Agriculture Program

agbuilding811Piedmont Technical College is continuing to expand its unique diversified agriculture program in Saluda with the addition of a new facility. The program has erected a barn on-site for storage and hopefully in the near future, livestock.

PTC Sponsors Fall Kick-off and Club Fair

Students at Piedmont Technical College were treated to a Fall Kick-off and Club Fair Wednesday. Organizations and clubs on campus provided information to students during the fall kick-off as well as provided a free hot dog lunch. The annual event welcomes students back to class and introduces them to the clubs and organizations available on campus.

 

 

Piedmont Tech to Provide Public Computer Labs through Grant

Piedmont Technical College now provides public computer labs at all locations in all seven of the counties it serves. The labs are staffed by knowledgeable personnel who are available to help computer users. These labs are available through the $437,000 grant Piedmont Tech received with the SC Technical College System, as part of a grant for $5.9M by the US Department of Commerce – National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
