Procedures for Instructors
The staff of the Teaching and Learning Center would like to continue its service to students for make-up testing, retesting, and TeleWeb testing. With the cooperation of our instructors, the Center can offer this convenience during testing hours only. Since the testing center has expanded its role, it is more important than ever that procedures be uniformly followed so that a proper testing situation can be maintained.
Please follow the procedures below for make-up testing:
- Write the student’s name on the Test Routing Slip where indicated.
- Attach the Test Routing Slip (provided by the TLC) to each test indicating any information that the test administrator and the student need to know.
- Check your test file folder in the lab regularly and remove completed and outdated tests.
- It is the responsibility of the instructor to remove those tests with a deadline.
- Inform students of the testing hours. If these hours do not suit the student, the student will need to make other arrangements with the instructor.
- Instructors with special requests should notify the Assessment Coordinator and arrange, in advance, for such requests to be implemented.
- The Testing Center is not open for testing during non-class days (holidays, vacations, in-service days, etc.).
- Proctored tests at colleges other than PTC must be arranged through the Testing Center.
Note to instructors of conventional and web-enhanced courses: Please understand that this service does not take the place of in-class testing. We do not give group tests, mid term, or final exams.
Note to instructors of WebCT courses: Due to the large volume of students, the Testing Center is unable to proctor weekly or biweekly quizzes/tests. Please contact the Assessment Coordinator for optional arrangements.
Thank you for your cooperation.
You will also be able find additional copies of the routing slip in the Makeup Test File Drawers in the Testing Center.
