Workforce Development Scholarship
The PTC Golf Classic Workforce Development Scholarship pays the remaining Piedmont Technical College tuition for qualifying students once federal and state financial aid is applied to their bills, up to a maximum of $1,200 for a student's first year.
Recipients are encouraged to review and apply for the extensive list of PTC Foundation Scholarships when they become eligible after earning 12 credit hours.
The scholarship is:
- Available for up to two terms, Fall & Spring
- Awarded in the Fall term
- Provides up to a maximum of $1200 for the academic year per qualifying student.
Please note that books, incidental expenses, and class or program-related fees are not covered by this scholarship.
Scholarship funding is limited, and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.

To qualify applicants must:
- Be over 21 years old
- Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours
- Be a first time student at PTC
- Complete a FAFSA and receive a financial aid package
- Be in good academic standing first term to receive second term
- Be a resident of PTC's service area

- Electronic Engineering Technology
- Engineering Graphics Technology
- Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Automotive Technology
- Building Construction Technology
- HVAC Technology
- Industrial Electronics
- Machine Tool Technology
- Mechatronics Technology
- Respiratory Care
- Cardiovascular Technician
Step 1: Apply to PTC
You can begin the Piedmont Technical College application process online, or you can stop by any PTC location to take care of this step in person. If you've already applied to the college, you don't need to apply again.
Step 2: Complete and Submit the Workforce Development Scholarship Application
You'll need to include the ID number that Piedmont Technical College supplies to you after submitting your college application.
You'll receive this information from PTC within a few days of submitting your application.
What Happens Next?
Once your application has been received, the PTC Financial Aid Office will verify that you qualify, and will award you the scholarship if it's necessary to cover your tuition after financial aid has been awarded.
Step 3: Apply for Financial Aid.
To be eligible to receive the scholarship you'll need to complete a FAFSA, and the financial aid process. After your aid is awarded, the scholarship will cover any remaining tuition balance, up to $1,200 for the academic year.

Step 4: Complete the Admissions Process and Enroll
After all the requirements have been met, the scholarship will be applied to your account to cover all remaining tuition that isn't covered by your financial aid package, up to $1,200 for the academic year. Please note: Scholarship funding is limited, and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.
