Requirements:

Minimum and Additional Requirements 
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required. Also needed are critical thinking skills, communicating and counseling skills; understanding of a diverse student population, and creativity.

Preferred Qualifications 
Master’s Degree and some experience with Student Services is preferred.

Job Description:

As an advisor, this person will provide interpretation of placement test scores, prerequisites, college policies and procedures, academic requirements, and course delivery methods. Advisor will review student barriers and strategies for success as well as guide students through selection of coursework and registration process. This person will train students in the use of advising and registration tools such as Pathway, DegreeWorks, D2L, and Navigate. This position works directly with our students, faculty and the general public performing administrative duties pertaining to the front desk, library, trouble-shooting equipment, and other duties as needed.
