PTC Graduates First EMT Certificate Class in Newberry

Piedmont Technical College and Lake Murray Public Safety in Prosperity recently celebrated the graduation of its first class of emergency medical technicians (EMTs). Associate Degree Nursing Students Honored

Recent graduates of Piedmont Technical College’s associate degree nursing program at the Lex Walters Campus were recognized in a pinning ceremony in May.

Pharmacy Technology Program Director Wins State Award

Clay Sprouse, pharmacy technology program director at Piedmont Technical College, has been named the 2015 South Carolina Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SCSHP) Pharmacy Technician of the Year.

“This is a tremendous honor to be recognized by your peers from across the state,” Sprouse said.

Piedmont Tech Honors Program Broadens Horizons in Costa Rica

The students in the Honors Program at Piedmont Technical College are living La Pura Vida – the pure life.

Thirteen students and five faculty members traveled to Costa Rica during spring break to broaden their horizons, learn about other cultures and provide community service. The trip was one of the enrichment opportunities available for students in the program.

“This was an experience you don’t get often in a lifetime,” said Toby Boster, an associate in arts student from Newberry. “You get the educational experience and the cultural exposure.”

Outstanding Students Honored at Piedmont Technical College Graduation

At Piedmont Technical College’s recent spring commencement exercises, outstanding students from each of the college’s seven supporting counties were honored for academic achievement. 


Piedmont Tech PBL Attends Leadership Conference, Wins Awards

Four Piedmont Technical College students recently attended the Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference in Charleston. The conference allowed students to compete in leadership events, share their successes, and learn new ideas about shaping the future of their career through workshops and exhibits. Piedmont Technical College Honors Graduates during Commencement

The James Medford Family Event Center at Piedmont Technical College welcomed more than 300 Piedmont Technical College graduates for two commencement ceremonies to celebrate their accomplishments.

Dr. Ray Brooks, president, welcomed graduates, family and guests to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduates.

Piedmont Tech BCT Program Wins Award

Piedmont Technical College’s building construction technology program recently won the 2015 Service Learning Award presented by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. The program was honored for their work on a renovation project at the Ninety Six National Historical Site, locally known as Star Fort.

“We are extremely proud of our students,” said David Kibler, interim dean of engineering and industrial technologies at PTC. “It was a great opportunity for the students to work collaboratively with the community.”
