Scholarships were presented to students and donors were recognized at the recent scholarship luncheon.
Piedmont Technical College student and McCormick resident Sylvia Adams, right, was recently awarded the Lucille Brooks Memorial Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Adams, a medical assisting student, is congratulated by Dr. Ray Brooks, president of Piedmont Tech. This scholarship, established to honor the memory of Lucille Brooks, is available to a single parent showing financial need and academic achievement.
Piedmont Technical College student and Ware Shoals resident Malik Davis, center, was recently awarded the Manning Family Scholarship. Davis, an associate in science student, is congratulated by Sharon Manning, left, and Peter Manning, right. The Peter and Sharon Manning family established this endowment in 2014. The scholarship is available to a first time, first generation student or a first generation student returning to college after 5 years out of school or college or a first generation student returning to college after a layoff.
Piedmont Technical College student and Columbia resident Kayla Morris, left, was recently awarded the H. Kelley Jones Scholarship. Morris, a veterinary technology student, is congratulated by donor Adam Eichelberger. Awarded annually, this scholarship is available to a student enrolled in the veterinary technology program approved by the AVMAs.
Piedmont Technical College student and Lincolnton, Ga. resident Natalie Wynn, left, was recently awarded the Emerald Ink and Stitches PTC Golf Classic Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Wynn, a business major, is congratulated by Steve Riley from Emerald Ink and Stitches. The scholarship is funded through an annual golf tournament held each spring and selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Piedmont Technical College student and Greenwood resident Wilson Weaghington was recently awarded the Judy Daulton Accounting Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Weaghington, left, an accounting student, is congratulated by Judy Daulton. This endowment was established in 2014 by Judy Daulton, a retired accounting instructor at Piedmont Technical. Scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in the Accounting curriculum.

Hodges, left, a business management student, is congratulated by Ernest Prewett, former executive assistant to the president at PTC. Established by the Piedmont Technical College Alumni Association, this scholarship is based on academic achievement and need.
Five Piedmont Technical College students recently received the MJA Endowed Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, Cindy Klauck, scholarship committee member; Tierra Pixley, a radiologic technology student from Edgefield; and Sandricka Rolland, an administrative office technology student from Johnston. Not pictured are Jacqueline Bush, an occupation therapy assistant student from Johnston; Alyssa Heartfield, a diversified agriculture student from Leesville; and Harley Kirkland, an associate in arts student from Parksville. This scholarship was established by a friend of the college who chooses to remain anonymous. It is available to a student from Edgefield County.

Capell, a veterinary technology student, is congratulated by Dr. Jerry Alewine, dean of health science. The scholarship is presented to second year veterinary technology students who demonstrate academic excellence, professionalism and participation in community activities.
