Scholarships were presented to students and donors were recognized at the recent scholarship luncheon.
Piedmont Technical College student and Anderson resident Alissa Gambrell, left, was recently awarded The Links at Stoney Point PTC Golf Classic Scholarship. Gambrell, an associate degree nursing student, is congratulated by Josh Black, associate vice president for enrollment and communications. The scholarship is funded through an annual golf tournament held each spring and selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.
Piedmont Technical College student and Calhoun Falls resident Sonya Hicks recently received the Human Services Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Hicks, right, a human services student, is congratulated by Allen Barbare, scholarship donor. Established by former faculty member Barbare in 2016, the scholarship is awarded to a student in the human services program.
Piedmont Technical College student and Greenwood resident Christine Evans, center, recently received the Casandra Cae Laster Memorial Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Evans, a commercial art student, is congratulated by Kendall Adams, commercial art program director and Laster family members Donna Laster and Jesse Stevens. The scholarship was established in Laster’s memory for students enrolled in the commercial arts program and is based on academic achievement.
Two Piedmont Technical College students received the Greenwood Rotary Club Scholarship at a recent scholarship luncheon. The scholarship is awarded annually to a second-year industrial technology student and a second-year engineering technology student and is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Vera Gonzelez, left, an ECD student, is congratulated by Dr. Brad Griggs, dean of arts and sciences. The scholarship is awarded to a student in the early childhood program. Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need and community involvement.

The scholarship is awarded annually to a cardiovascular technology or respiratory care student and is based on academic achievement.

Piedmont Technical College heating, ventilation and air conditioning technology student and Clinton resident Augustus Ray was recently awarded the Medford Family Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship is available to a student majoring in Nursing, Industrial Technology, Graphic Arts, Business, Massage Therapy or Automotive Technology who exhibits leadership abilities, academic achievement and financial need.
