Graduation Checklist

Please verify your information by reviewing the  Student Contact Information Card located under the Student tab in Pathway.

1. REVIEW YOUR PROGRAM OUTLINE IN DEGREEWORKS.

Am I Ready to Graduate?

DegreeWorks will outline any courses that are still missing from your program requirements. 

If you are close to 98% and only need a few more classes to complete your program, you may be ready to apply. Please contact your academic advisor about registering for your last few classes.

If there are no missing requirements, you can proceed to step 3.

2. CONTACT YOUR ACADEMIC ADVISOR 

Please contact your academic advisor about registering for your last few classes. Ask your academic advisor to review your DegreeWorks outline to see if any course substitutions are necessary to complete your program. If so, ask him/her to request or post these substitutions.

3.  APPLY FOR GRADUATION

All students who are completing a degree, diploma, or certificate program must submit a program completion "graduation" application, regardless of whether they plan to attend the ceremony. The application is a formal request for Piedmont Technical College to review and confirm that you have met all program requirements and to officially award your credential upon completion.

5. TASSEL - GRADUATION TICKETS

Tickets are required for all guests attending the commencement ceremony. Each person entering the building, including infants and children, must have a ticket and is entitled to one seat. A limited amount of tickets will be available. The allotted amount will be determined after the semester midterms and students will be emailed about tickets.

  • Tickets must be claimed only through Tassel linked here: Tassel - Graduation Tickets. Any unaccounted-for tickets will no longer be available.
  • Graduation is also live streamed, and the live steam can be accessed here: www.ptc.edu/live
6. ORDERING GRADUATION REGALIA

To order your Graduation Regalia, please visit the Campus Bookstore.

7. GRADUATION CEREMONY INFORMATION

This webpage has been designed to provide information about graduation, including information about the ceremony.

8.  PAY OUTSTANDING BALANCES

Pay any Library fines, parking fines, or other outstanding balances to the Business Office or County Campus. You cannot receive your credential if you have a financial hold on your account.

9.  COMPLETE STUDENT LOAN EXIT COUNSELING

If you received a federal student loan, you are required to complete Exit Counseling before you graduate. The purpose of exit counseling is to ensure you understand your student loan obligations and are prepared for repayment. You'll need to complete exit counseling whenever you leave your school, even if you plan to restart another program later. Completing Exit Counseling will not impact your future loan or financial aid eligibility, as it is just an informational session.

NOTE: To be eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony, students must be completing a degree, diploma or certificate of 30 hours or more.

Fall 2026 Graduates 

  • Application Deadline: October 9, 2026
  • Ceremony Date: December 10, 2026
  • Degree/Diploma/Certificate Pickup: January 12, 2027

Spring 2027 Graduates

  • Application Deadline: March 5, 2027
  • Ceremony Date: May 6, 2027
  • Degree/Diploma/Certificate Pickup: May 21, 2027

Summer 2027 Graduates

  • Application Deadline: June 4, 2027
  • Degree/Diploma/Certificate Pickup: August 16, 2027
