Ways to Give

The PTC Fund is the philanthropic heartbeat of our college, providing support to every student, every instructor and every program. Scholarship endowments and state and federal funding may not always cover the full cost of attendance. Current-use support through the PTC Fund meets this gap and ensures the continued excellence and affordability of a PTC education.

Unexpected or emergency short-term expenses can arise during the academic year and can create financial stress that makes it harder for students to stay focused on their education. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Student Emergency Fund provides limited financial support to eligible students who experience an unforeseen, short-term financial emergency. Funds support cost of attendance incidentals such as laptops, books, scrubs, transportation and housing.

According to a national survey nearly 40% of students at two-year colleges report experiencing food insecurity. The Hope Pantry at PTC is our promise to break down barriers that prevent a student from becoming a graduate. The Hope Pantry carries items such as food, diapers and personal care essentials and is funded entirely by the community.

Endowed scholarships reflect a donor’s commitment to support a scholarship in a specific area or for a specific purpose with a permanent fund. Contributions are invested to ensure the scholarship retains its value in perpetuity, and the scholarships created by the endowment are funded through the income generated.

Named rooms and spaces remind our students that they have a community of donors and friends supporting them in their educational journey. Gifts can be used to honor or memorialize a loved one and/or to serve as a statement of your organization’s support for our students. Current limited opportunities are available in the new Self Regional Healthcare Health Sciences Building, The Family Life and Conference Center, and the Saluda Center for Advanced Manufacturing.

Endowed chairs and programs promote exceptional educational opportunities for our students by:

• Providing resources to attract and retain the best and brightest instructors.
• Increasing funding for state-of-the-art equipment, technology, and hands-on learning opportunities.
• Providing opportunities to expand existing programs and pilot new, innovative initiatives.
• Expanding services and resources designed to help students identify and move forward toward their personal, career, and educational objectives.
