Agreement between PTC and McCormick Saves Students Time and Money

An articulation agreement signed between Piedmont Technical College and McCormick School District will allow high school students in the building construction curriculum to earn college credit while completing courses at the high school level. By not having to repeat similar courses at the college level, the agreement saves students both time and money.
Signed on March 23 by Dr. Lex Walters, PTC president, and Dr. Sandra Calliham, superintendent for McCormick School District, the agreement recognizes the correlations in the building construction technology (BCT) curriculum at the high school and college levels.
BCT instructors from PTC and McCormick School District developed a set of matching competencies. If a student masters these competencies, earns a grade of “B” or better and is recommended in writing by his or her instructors, he or she can earn college credit hours upon enrolling at Piedmont Tech.
